Purple February

February has always been a kind of purple-y month to me. For one thing, the amethyst is the birth stone for those of us with a birthday this month. The days are so short, that afternoons often have lovely soft purple edges fairly early on. And finally, since Valentine's Day is in February, purple gets a lot of decoration time with pinks and reds.
